Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders recently announced he’s running for the2020 presidential election. This isn’t his first rodeo, and the political vet expects at least one million people to hop on board his grassroots campaign. Sanders is praised for promoting free college education and the expansion of America’s healthcare system. 12 hours after announcing his democratic bid and releasing his first campaign video, the presidential hopeful raised $4 million dollars via 150,000 donors. This includes $500,000 recurring monthly contributions. But Bernie understands his political future lies heavily on a major factor: is he the democratic candidate that’ll beat Donald Trump?

Sanders will continues to attack issues such as economic inequality and sustaining social security. He hopes to raise “payroll taxes on income above $250,000 and hike the estate tax on the wealthiest Americans — suggesting a top rate of 77% on billionaire heirs” (CNN).
